The wait is over! Our luxury shepherd’s hut on the banks of the River Wye is ready to welcome guests, and we’re excited to announce that we’re taking bookings from October. Whether you’re seeking a romantic break, an adventure-filled holiday, or simply a quiet retreat in nature, our hut offers the perfect blend of comfort and seclusion, all in one stunning location. Let’s take a walkthrough of the space and explore the beauty that surrounds it.
A Riverside Retreat
The River Wye is one of the most scenic rivers in the UK, and our shepherd’s hut sits right on its banks. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted by the sound of flowing water and uninterrupted views of the river winding through the countryside. You can sip your morning coffee outside, with the sunlight reflecting off the river, or relax in the private hot tub as the stars come out over the water in the evening. It’s the ultimate setting to unwind and reconnect with nature.
Inside the Hut
Step inside, and you’ll find a warm, welcoming space designed with your comfort in mind. The main living area is cosy yet spacious, featuring a comfortable double bed that’s perfect for a peaceful night’s sleep, with the hut perfectly positioned to make the most of those river views. For those cooler nights, the hobbit log burner will keep you snug, while the underfloor heating ensures the hut is a perfect retreat in any season.
The kitchenette comes equipped with all the essentials, including a two-burner hob, mini fridge, and basic kitchenware, allowing you to prepare simple meals during your stay.
The private bathroom is fitted with modern amenities, including a shower, toilet, and sink, plus local socially conscious toiletries to complete the experience.
Outside, the fenced garden offers space for your furry friend to enjoy, and the fire pit provides the perfect spot to gather around after a day of exploring.
Explore the Local Area
If you can tear yourself away from the peaceful riverside setting, there’s plenty to do in the local area. Just a short 5-minute walk from the hut, the Wye Valley Walk offers breathtaking routes along the river, perfect for walking, cycling, or simply soaking in the scenery.
For a day out, head to the Brecon Beacons National Park, a few miles away, where you can hike, kayak, or take in the dramatic mountain views. If you’re after some culture, Hay-on-Wye is also a 15-minute drive, famous for its bookshops and the annual Hay Festival. Looking for something more serene? Llangors Lake offers boating and birdwatching opportunities, all within easy reach.
And if you’re in the mood for a meal or a drink, the Griffin Pub is just a short walk away, serving up delicious local food and drinks in a welcoming setting.
