Beautiful, peaceful stay
Beautiful, peaceful stay in the best Shepherd’s Hut we’ve ever stayed in! Everything is absolutely brand new, including the amazing hot tub. The hosts were so warm and friendly upon arrival, and very responsive via message with some queries during our stay.
The place has stunning views of the Wye, with the sound of the river and a wide variety of birds to keep you company! On a cloudless night there’s almost nowhere better in the world to stargaze!
The hut itself is very well insulated with underfloor heating, so one doesn’t need the wood burner except for the novelty.
Loved the use of complimentary local Welsh products throughout.
The place is also great for dogs, very secure, and plenty of space to play fetch!

Cutest, clean, calming and peaceful place
Sarah and Jon were such amazing hosts! We knew about the area and the hut in a really awesome guide they had put together and emailed to us ahead of our stay.
The hut is situated so privately on their land which is lush.
Jon came to meet us when we arrived to show us the hot tub and anything that we had questions for.
It is the cutest, clean, calming and peaceful place we have stayed and warm too in the unpredictable weather.
We loved our stay and look forward to booking again.
The local pub which is a 2 minute walk has some yummy gastro food and really good prices.
The hut had everything you needed to eat inside if you brought your own food, or got takeaway to eat in. Loved the breakfast bar and stools too, proper cute x
The hut was super dog friendly for my sausage dog too. He loved the duck treats. They kept him behaved all weekend hehe!

Stunning place
Stunning place, because surroundings and just what we were looking for as a break away. The shepherds hut is beautifully designed and very comfortable for all.
Faultless hosts that couldn’t do more for us with some really helpful and genuine interactions.
Would definitely stay here again and really recommend!

Views are amazing
A truly lovely spot to spend a couple of days visiting Hay-on-Wye. Sarah was a fantastic host, who went out her way to make our stay great. The Shepard’s hut itself is fantastic, everything you could ask for inside. The hot tub is a brilliant bonus point, and the views are amazing across the river. You feel very secluded, it really feels like your own space. We highly recommend a visit!
